Group IT Engineer
Are you an experienced IT professional seeking a new challenge in a dynamic and rapidly expanding automotive retail environment? Brayleys Cars Ltd. is looking for a Group IT Engineer to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our continued growth and success.
Reporting directly to the Group IT Manager, the role will be field-based covering our West Way dealerships in the North West, with an occasional need to travel to our West Way and Brayleys, Midlands and Southern sites.
Key Requirements:
- An IT related degree or similar related qualification or be able to demonstrate 2-3 years IT support experience.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Cisco, CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications) is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of networking equipment and technologies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft operating systems, Office 365, and other Microsoft applications.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure.
- UK driving license is essential.
As a Group IT Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Providing technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Maintaining and configuring Cisco network devices and Microsoft software environments.
- Implementing and maintaining cybersecurity measures to protect the company's systems and data.
- Monitoring and maintaining servers, storage, and backup solutions.
- Participating in IT projects, including planning, implementation, and post-implementation support.
- Collaborating with different teams to identify and resolve IT-related issues.
- Documenting IT processes and maintain an inventory of IT equipment and software.
- Remaining up-to-date with industry trends and technologies to improve IT infrastructure.
- Providing training and guidance to end-users on IT best practices.
- Assisting with IT-related procurement and vendor management.
- Managing responsibilities and tasks effectively - travel to different dealership locations as appropriate.
