Despite new car registrations having fallen by almost a third, due to the chip shortage, but also because of the pingdemic, where staff members are having to self-isolate, it is reported that sales of electric vehicles are now outpacing diesel vehicles.
As of yesterday, it was reported by the BBC that for the second month running EV's have been selling much faster than diesel vehicles, but petrol still far out-paced both. This is the third time that this has been reported in the space of two years.
Recently, people have been more inclined to
go electric as the UK tries to move towards a low emissions and low carbon future. To enforce this, the UK are going to ban the sales of new petrol and diesels cars by 2030, and hybrids by 2035; with a prediction that by 2050, all cars on our roads will be electric.
