Nissan is soon to supply the NV200 as London Taxis! The NV200 is perfect for the job as it is a compact van which will be converted for taxi use to comfortably seat 5 adults and enable wheel chair access. The new NV200 cab will compete against the iconic London taxi, with its lower CO2 emissions. It is also 50% more fuel-efficient than existing cabs, a focus which is in line with the Mayor Boris Johnson’s Air Quality strategy for London. Durable and reliable, the Nissan NV200 London Taxi is based on the company's multi-purpose NV200 compact van - a vehicle which has won many awards including International Van Of The Year. To start with, the New Diesel-powered NV200 Taxi will have a manual transmission gearbox but Nissan intends to introduce an automatic transmission soon after. Nissan hopes the NV200 will achieve full London Taxi Certification later this year. Plans are also in the pipeline for the e-NV200, an electric version next year.
