As of today, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. has released it's 17th annual Sustainability Report, which has been issued every year since 2004 in order to become more transparent with business activities.The aim of this is to report on any approaches that the company has taken on to become more sustainable.
Within this years report, Nissan has reported on areas such as environment, traffic safety, supply chain, community engagement, company governance and compliance and employees. Through making this sort of information publically available, Nissan are looking for external feedback on how to improve their sustainability efforts in order to better contribute to a more sustainable society. Along with the sustainability report, Nissan also hosted an online seminar in which they discussed sustainability publically, further becoming more transparent with the actions they are taking.
In 2018, Nissan took a huge step to become more sustainable with their new strategy, 'Nissan Sustainability 2022'; This outlines the commitments that Nissan are taking on in order to comply with environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria, and through the Nissan Green Program 2022, Nissan will be addressing important topics such as climate change, resource dependency, air quality and water scarcity.
